Stepchild Faves – January 2015

It’s the first edition of the 2015 Stepchild Faves, which means we are already a month into the new year! How are your New Year’s resolutions holding up so far? Some of mine are coming along nicely, while others have pretty much been dropped already, but such is life I guess.

Anyhow, here are our top 5 fave posts from January 2015: (in no particular order)

Budget Bloggess – Minimalist Me – A Look Ahead at 2015 – First of all, we loved how Michelle incorporated minions into her minimalist me theme for 2015. How cute is that?! But we also loved the message behind her post and her goals for 2015.

Young Adult Money – Can You Be Too Addicted to Earning Money? – Erin asks a good question in this post and I don’t know that I’m addicted to earning money, but I do think I’m addicted to having the extra money come in from my side hustles. Now that I’ve seen the possibilities I don’t think I can ever go back to where I was before.

Budgets are Sexy – How I Save Money [in Pictures] As always, J$’s post is entertaining, but it’s also chock full of good information, like “Everyone knows how to save money, but putting it into practice is a whole other ballgame. You gotta channel your inner Nike and just do it.”

Frugaling – Being “The Best” Made Me Miserable In this post, Sam points out that he’s always wanted to be “the best” at everything in life, but he finally realized there are so many people in the world that being “the best” is nearly impossible. This is something that all of us perfectionists need to learn! Instead of trying to be “the best” we just need to always do our best. 🙂

Shop My Closet Project – Why I Fired Myself Before I Got Fired by Somebody Else – Michelle recently took the plunge and quit her full-time job. In fact, right now she’s living it up in Australia! #jealous In this post she tells us why she finally started making plans to quit her job and why it was a good thing she did.

Well, that’s it for our list this month folks! We hope you enjoy your weekend.
