Aren’t we all disdained when we experience slow internet connections? It drives us nuts! Some of us even start yelling at our computers!
Drugs, diet pills, starvation diets, detox cleansing extreme diets, surgery – we will do everything to lose weight, but won’t go for a run or hit the gym. From face creams to earning money, we want everything to happen in the least possible time, with the best results. But weren’t we always told that all good things take time? Then what makes us so impatient? ‘I WANT IT AND I WANT IT RIGHT NOW!’
Why are we not willing to wait?
The growing culture of wanting instant results is seeping into every aspect of our lives. We are ready to jump lines, give a little extra money, or some other way to get our work done. With the rapid pace of our technology, we are not even willing to wait for the movie to release, and we download it before to watch it on our laptops.
A lot of things that are really valuable take time. But immediate gratification is the default response. We no longer think about the long-term anymore. We only care about this moment; we want to be satisfied at that particular instant. We expect things to happen so quickly that even waiting for a few moments for the video to load is difficult for us. It’s difficult to overcome those urges and be patient and wait for things to come over time.
There are no short cuts to excellence. Hard work is hard work, there’s no getting around it. Work hard and work smart, while doing what you love and your business will withstand the test of time. You will get results, better than you what you expected.
Shortcuts may lead you to instant results, but the chances of maintain those results aren’t usually very likely.
If it is something you really want to accomplish, try doing it on your own, take time, do it the right way, you’ll be happier, a lot more satisfied with the end result. When you compare this feeling to when you did not put in many efforts or managed to get the job done through some other shorter way, there’s a world of difference. It is never quite gratifying to do what do like by taking shortcuts. If you are passionate enough find a right way, wrong ways will always remain like a chunk of guilt in your heart.
You should accomplish your life goals swiftly, the journey between the idea and the end result, is where you learn your lessons, and you grow. Self-discipline, dedication, and determination are required for you to truly succeed in life. True success will dawn for people who stand long enough. Never be deceptive when trying to achieve a personal gain. Shortchanging others results in loss of self-esteem. Never rely on shortcuts- none offer lasting results or true satisfaction. Be fair. ‘Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.’ Prove your system first.
