NFL Running Back Earnings by Stat Category for 2022-2023 Season

Now that the 2022-2023 NFL season is in the books and we know the grand total earnings of each player, it’s time to look at which NFL players offered the best value for their team according to their stats and earnings.  This page will focus on the running back position.

We gathered earnings data from Spotrac for NFL running backs, which includes any form of compensation they may have received in this specific year.  It could include salary, signing bonus, and performance incentives.  It’s the grand total of money they were paid during the 2022-2023 football season.

We then compared those earnings against each running back’s statistics.  We used the stats from Pro Football Reference to do our study.

The core statistical categories we studied were carries, rushing yards, and touchdowns.  We only looked at running backs who carried the ball 100 or more times during the season.

This article shares the data results from the research we did.  Each data set below is sorted from lowest to highest (meaning the players with the best value are at the top).
