I’m Going to #FinCon13 (and the obligatory Plutus plea!)

Hi guys! So remember how I was on vacation for like a million years? Well now I’m going to St. Louis in October for #FinCon13.

Pause for excitement, judgement, or indifference.

Why am I going? A combination of the following:

1) I’m kinda a personal finance blogger

2) I’m definitely a personal finance freelance writer

3) Because of #2, it’s tax deductible based on tax calculators and estimators

4) Peer pressure

5) FOMO

6) Impulsiveness

7) I got the ticket for $89 on Twitter

I’m super excited but really, really nervous because I am the most awkward human being on the planet.

That’s it. I’m going. Now onto the obligatory plea for Plutus Award nominations…

The Plutus Awards are apparently the Grammys of the personal finance world. I’m not sure if that is awesome or sad… Nevertheless, you nominate your favorite bloggers for different PF categories.

I think you should vote for these awesome ladies:

Erin at #Broke Millennial for Best Personal Finance Blog for Young Adults or Best New Personal Finance Blog

Lauren at L Bee and the Money Tree for Best New Personal Finance Blog

Kathleen at Frugal Portland for Best Frugality-Focused Personal Finance Blog

Shannyn at Frugal Beautiful for Best Frugality-Focused Personal Finance Blog or Blog of the Year

Michelle at Making Sense of Cents for any awards

They are all awesome bloggers and they all deserve it!

If you are super bored and want to goof on the Plutus Awards committee, you could throw me a nomination for Most Humorous Personal Finance Blog or Best Blog Contributor or Freelance Writer. Go nominate HERE.

So who else is going? Do you have a roommate? I need one or else I will have to stay in a scary area to save a dime. Do you really want me to die, you monsters? JK. Vote for me. Your ass looks great in those jeans.
