Get Out of Debt

4 Fun Things I’ll Do When I’m Debt Free Someday

Sometimes it’s just nice to think fantasize about all the things I’ll be able to do with my money when it’s really mine someday. You know, after my debts are ALL paid off.

It’s going to be a while before this happens. I set a goal to be 100% free from credit card debt this year, but after that’s paid off I’ll still have a long ways to go thanks to my mortgage, my car loan, etc.

Nevertheless, I still like to fantasize about 4 fun things I’ll do when I’m debt free someday.

I might roll around in a big pile of cash money.

Ok I probably will do this. 🙂 Wouldn’t it be nice to have a stack of cash that large?

Don’t worry, once I’m done wallering around in it I’ll be sure to do something productive with it.

I might call in to The Dave Ramsey Show to do a debt free scream.

Doesn’t that look like fun?

I’ll also probably brag about it to everyone I know, but only to inspire them to do the same of course.

I might film myself flinging my money around the room, put it to music, call it a music video, and get paid a $hit ton more money.

Ok. I probably won’t do this one.

I might try travel hacking my way around the world.

But until then, I’m still going to do some travelling.

The real point of this post is to remind you (and myself) of the all the possibilities and rewards that come from being debt free. It’s fun to have ideas of what we might do once we are debt free, but it’s hard to really know for sure until we reach that point.

Paying off debt is seriously hard sometimes because of the sacrifices you have to make, like the things you can’t buy or do, or the extra hours you have to work to earn more money.

When times get hard, it’s fun to imagine what life will be like once you are debt free. That’s when the possibilities are endless.

Of course I recognize (and I’m sure you do too) and paying off debt is really only the beginning of the journey toward financial independence. Once you are debt free there are still plenty of other financial goals and milestones to work toward, like building an emergency fund, saving for retirement, and investing money in other ways too.

But once in a while it’s fun to just sit back, relax, and dream about the world of possibilities awaiting you on the other side of debt.

What might you do once you are debt free? Are you planning on doing any of these things? Spill it! I want to know about your plans for debt freedome. But if you are already debt free, don’t rub it in. 🙂
