Side Hustles

Trying On My New Blogging Shoes

Hey-o fancy people!

If you got some weird e-mails from RedDebted, reach across the computer and slap me.

We are using tester posts to check if everything is being sent out to subscribers, and it’s probably all clogging up your inbox. My bad.

Working through the kinks of this new-to-me blog reminds me of my early blogging days, back when I created my own headers in Paint and had no idea what wordpress was. (I was on blogspot for 2 years!)

After writing for so many other bloggers, I know that the inside of blogs don’t all look the same, but it still takes some getting used to. It’s kind of like buying a new pair of stilettos. You get all excited about them and take them out the box. They’re wobbly at first but you just can’t wait to take them for a spin. That’s kind of how expanding into other websites is for me. It’s a fun and interesting endeavor, especially when doing business with people as kind and as helpful as Erin, but it’s also a bit slow going at first.

I told you I’d be dishing out about the income generated from this site, but what about the expenses? I’ve had RedDebted for a week and have had some awesome and much needed support.

My go to person for technical support is Grayson from DebtRoundUp. I like to work with Grayson because he is lighting fast in his responses. And, it’s kind of mind boggling how smart he is. I’ll try to fix the smallest thing and will fight for hours to try to figure it out on my own. Eventually I give up and e-mail Grayson and he fixes whatever-it-is in about 2 second flat.

I’m also trying something new where I’m working with a VA/staff writer. I’ve posted on Budget Blonde recently about being overwhelmed, so some people are wondering why in the heck I’ve added another blog (and pssst… there’s a 3rd one coming very, very soon. Shhh.) However, this has all been in the works for a while, and I knew a long time ago that if I was going to expand my online business, I’d need some help.

Kayla from ShoeaholicNoMore will be writing once a week here, and she’s doing a bunch of other awesome things for me to help me grow my biz. She’s already worked close to 20 hours in the last two weeks, and I’m enjoying having the help. So, keep your eyes peeled for her jazzy self later this week.

Okay that’s it for today. Make sure to send in a guest post for consideration. We’re paying $5 for your debt story awesomeness so don’t be shy. 🙂
