May and June 2015 Blog Income Report

Boy, if April was slow then May and June was like trying to run through quicksand.

We had 2 extremely slow months with advertising income on Red Debted Stepchild, but luckily I have my online income pretty diversified between the other sites I own and my own freelancing gigs too. Advertising always seems to slow down over the summer, so I busied myself by creating my Get Paid to Write for Blogs course instead. 🙂

Anytime I earn income from this site it’s all profit since I’ve already made back my investment a few months ago. Plus my income from Red Debted Stepchild is mostly passive thanks to my team (Kayla and Kara) who do most of the work over here at RDS.

Still, I’m looking forward to the fall and hoping things will ramp up again in terms of advertising. We weren’t the only bloggers affected by the slow summer months so at least I know it’s not just me! Here are the numbers for both months. Ouch.

Earnings:

Affiliate and Direct Advertising: $395.00

Expenses:

Help With the Blog: $264.75 (As many of you know, I have help in the form of virtual assistants here on RDS, and I also pay to regularly update the technical side of things.)

Guest Posts: $5.00 (We pay $5 per guest post to help people with their finances.)

So, Earnings – Expenses =

Total Income: $125.25 in profit

How was your May and June?
